540 RHQ Deep Shelter

When the guns to the east of Dover fired together they were designated a Fortress.

This Deep Shelter was used by the personnel of 540 Coast Regiment as protection from bombing and shelling. The Shelter comprises of two parallel tunnels with three cross tunnels linking them, access was by two entrances and sets of stairs.
