This air raid shelter was constructed in World War Two utilising the cut and cover design for the protection of the workers at a nearby Dispersal Production Depot.

Entry into the shelter is provided by a set of steps with the latrine recesses being near the entrance. At the other end of the shelter is the vertical escape shaft which in the event the main entrance was blocked or damaged persons within the shelter could escape via the ladder and out to the ground above.
