Constructed during the 1860s the galleries contains three gun rooms that have semicircular vaulted casemates with timber floors. Each gun room had a central carronade embrasure with musket loopholes either side. Behind gun rooms two and three there is an expense magazine. Leading off of the gun rooms there is a musketry gallery.
