Built in the late 1930s this heavy anti aircraft battery was armed with four 4.5-inch guns and a GL Mark IA radar system. Later during the war a Bofors gun emplacement was added to the site. The battery was manned by regiments from the Royal Artillery.
The battery comprises of 4 4.5inch Gun emplacements, a semi sunken command post, air raid shelter, Bofors Gun emplacement and defensive pillboxes.
