Three terraces of house were built on this site towards the end of the Nineteenth Century.

Their original use were as workmen's quarters for the men working at the nearby ordnance depot and barracks before later being handed over to the Royal Marines Police for use as married quarters for officers who were protecting the nearby magazine depot.

The three terraces were eventually turned over to the army for use as Fighting in Built Up Areas and Royal Engineers Search Teams training.

One of the terraces has long since been demolished, the other two terraces sitting abandoned and derelict.
