Excavated at the start of the Second World War into a chalk hillside, this Deep Shelter was one of four proposed and built by the council.
The shelter was completed by 1942 and ranges from 10-20m in depth. It was reputed to be able to hold 1500 people.
After the war the shelter found itself being used for different applications but now sits abandoned.
