The Ops Room at RAF Duxford is situated in the Ops Block (Building 59). The Ops Block was built in 1928 to the design of the Air Ministry's Directorate of Works and Buildings.
The room is reconstructed to look how it did on the 15th September 1940, the day the Battle of Britain reached its climax.
The purpose of the Ops Room was to direct the stations Pilots into combat. This involved the collation, plotting and dissemination of information to the stations fighter squadrons who were scrambled to engage with the Luftwaffe bombers and fighters.
