These remains date from the end of the 12th Century and were probably built by a member of the Drahošovice family.
The palace was later owned by the family of lords from Kunštát specifically at the beginning of the 15th century to Boček of Kunštát.
Another famous person to live here was George of Poděbrady. He lived here between 1450 and 1458 and was elected King Of Bohemia at the Old Town Hall on 2nd March 1458 and remained so until his death on 22nd March 1471.
The palace was two storeys high with the floor in this video being the original ground floor and the first floor now being a restaurant. The floor was separated into 2 smaller rooms with an entrance room facing the direction of Charles Bridge.
This part of the palace was rediscovered when it was going to be transformed into an Air Raid Shelter in 1941. At the time the owners were using it as a coal warehouse that had been divided into individual cubicles.
During the floods of 2002 the water level reached 1.25m and as such significant repairs and reconstruction were required within the floor.
