Built as part of the Cold War precautions this post was designed to monitor nuclear blasts and radiation. It became operational in October 1960 and was finally stood down in September 1991. The post was manned by members of the Royal Observer Corps. This post was a master post due to the metal dome on the ventilation shaft. The post today is in poor condition due to vandalism.
